2. Popular Shifts

Video Transcript

To start scheduling with Bizimply you need to first navigate to one particular location.  Once you are in one location, you can click on the Schedule icon at the top of the page.

The Schedule will always open in the current week.  It will also list our Schedules alphabetically, so we’ll start with our back-of-house, and we can navigate to our front-of-house schedule using this dropdown menu.

The first thing to edit in your schedule is the Popular Shifts. These are on the left-hand side. You will have some placeholder Popular Shifts, but we recommend you delete or edit these as needed. So to edit,  click on the yellow pencil.

First, you can decide how you would like to colour-code the shifts.   You can choose either by Position or by Popular Shifts. If you choose by Popular Shifts, you can change the colour on the shifts on the right-hand side for how they will appear as you build the Schedule.

Now in the list of shifts available, if I have any shift that isn’t relevant for me, I can delete that shift by clicking on the Trash button.

Or I may have one that is somewhat relevant for me, so I may wish to edit it.  Click on the yellow pencil button to edit.

In this instance I am going to enter an unpaid break to reduce the cost of the shift.

Once you’re happy with an edit, click Update.

To create a new Popular Shift from scratch,  click the ‘New Popular Shift’ button. Then enter your start time and your end time for the shift.

You can also enter an unpaid break.

You can also choose to display the start time for the shift as ‘Open’,  or the end time as ‘Close’ rather than the specific time,  but it depends on your business preferences.

Lastly, you can decide if you want to include this shift with the schedule hours and graphs.  Sometimes you might choose not to, but it’s recommended for most shifts that you should include them for reporting purposes.

Once you’ve saved your new shift, you can see it in the list of your Popular Shifts, with the start time, end time and unpaid break.

So when you navigate back to the Schedule view, you’ll now see all the updated Popular Shifts with their start time, end time, unpaid break, and the total amount of hours.  They are now ready to use for building your schedule.
