9. Setting up the Timestation
Video Transcript
If you’re ready for your employees to start clocking in and clocking out, you need to set up the Timestation app either on your Android device or on your iPad. This video will show you the iPad Set up.
First you need to download the application from the App Store. So open the App Store and in here you’re going to use the search functionality to search for Bizimply.
Here in the top right, you can see we have the application called Timestation by Bizimply, which we’re going to download. And once it’s downloaded, we’re going to click ‘Open’.
The first thing we’re going to get asked for is our login credentials, which is the same login we use for the web application. So the same email you use when signing in to Bizimply on a web browser.
Now you can choose between the two options available when you’re setting up your Timestation: You can either set up one single location, which is the most common type of setup, or you can choose the multi-location Timestation. The latter can be used if you have set up your account with departments as individual Locations and you want to clock into all the departments on just the one iPad.
So to set up multiple locations, you need to Click on the “Multiple Locations” option and then select the locations you want to have in your setup and then “Next”. Or if we’re going to set up one location, we’re going to choose just the one location from the same page straight away.
You will now be asked to create a four digit PIN known as the “Manager PIN”. This is to get into the back end of the Timestation. So this PIN should only be known by select employees and should be tricky to guess.
We can skip through these messages and open the App. It’s really important that you allow the Timestation application to access your camera on the iPad to take the clock-in and the clock-out photos. So we’re going to allow here.
And now we need to check the settings on the App by going into the background of the application by clicking this icon in the bottom left corner and entering the Manager PIN we just created.
And now on this page we click into “Settings” where we can update the Settings for this Timestation. So we can see the device name, which is the name on the iPad. You can see if the photo capture is turned on. You can decide to turn these off, but that is not recommended. The Upload Photos option should also be left ‘on’ to ensure photos taken on the iPad are synced to the web application.
For more accurate clock- in data, you can enable “Face Detection” which will not let an employee clock in if their face isn’t visible in the photo capture.
We can also decide if at the end of the day we want employees to be asked if they’ve taken their break when clocking out.
